Mr. Agulnick has focused more than 20 years of his career in senior leadership on governance and operations in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. He served as Executive Vice President for TBED21, where he focused on developing governmental policy initiatives & programmatic efforts dedicated to the integrating strategies for technology based economic development, workforce development, and education in America’s major cities. He has also served as the Chief Operating Officer for the University City Science Center, located in Philadelphia, PA. , The Science Center is the world’s oldest and largest urban research park, and has focused primarily on the commercialization of over 350 life science and technology companies. It is co-owned by 32 universities including the University of Pennsylvania and the National University of Singapore. Mr. Agulnick also holds extensive experience in the biotechnology industry and in the area of government relations.
Prof. Benotti is the Legal Adviser of the Office of Cabinet of Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in Italy, and also serves as a Professor of Geopolitics of Resources at the University of Tor Vergata. In the former role, he manages projects concerning young people, innovation, and the South part of Italy, including projects for retraining and education via voluntary civil service of migrants and holders of international protection. He concurrently is an Adviser to the Minister of Labor and Social Policies (Italy) as well as the President of Optel Microelectronics Solutions, a public-private research consortium in the field of microelectronics and sensorial research with military, life science, and territorial protection applications.
Since 2009, Ms. Guarnieri has been the Head of the Holding Partecipazioni SPA, which houses both national and international companies. She has expertise in the world of administration and finance, strategic consulting and new business, (R & D, Tourism, Leisure, territorial development), and 8 years of experience in the world of niche tourism. She is also the HR head and Financial Controller for Optel Microelectronic Solutions. In this work, she deals with local development, territorial cohesion and social inclusion, with particular attention to the internal areas of Italy and other territories that present new opportunities for development and inclusion. She offers consulting, technical assistance and evaluation activities for companies, public bodies, foundations, religious institutions, international organizations for the creation of local plans and strategies, territorial development, public policies and access to community funds.
Dr. Gobbo has over 30 years of banking and corporate finance experience spanning healthcare, telecoms and energy. His expertise encompasses M&A, equity capital markets and venture capital/private equity. He holds a BA in Organic Chemistry from Harvard College, a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado and an MBA, a Master of Business Economics and a Ph.D. (Management) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His previous employment experience spans many institutions. With Lazard in London he was responsible for Central and Eastern Europe, where he focused on M&A advisory for energy and health care, while with IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank, he made several investments in life sciences and pharma companies and PE funds in China, India, Latin America and Central Europe. As a private investor and consultant, he has worked with assisting several startups in the US and EU in their strategy and fund raising.
Dr. Moon earned his Ph.D. in Human Genetics and Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His doctoral work included the cloning of the human gene for a unique cell water channel molecule, substantially contributing to the work of Nobel Laureate Dr. Peter Agre. He received his M.D. from Seoul National University School of Medicine and completed his post-doctoral training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Moon has focused on the discovery of novel genes causing various cancers, metabolic disease and neurodegenerative disease. His accomplishments include the identification of greater than 25,000 new genes and proteins. With many published articles and multiple patent filings in relation to cancer testing, Dr. Moon is renowned as a scientific innovator whose discoveries will shape future development and opportunities in the sector.
Mr. Andrus is a graduate of the Temple University Fox School of Business and has been an entrepreneurial leader with over 33 years of executive management experience specializing in business development and relationship selling. He directed the operation of multiple technology companies worldwide, with an emphasis in information technology, life sciences, healthcare, regulatory compliance, security, sustainability and alternative energy. Mike was the past Chairman for the regulatory committee for BIO2005 and was voted Top “101 CEO’s by the Philadelphia Inquirer”.
Mr. Andrus has been responsible for global business development and the “go to market strategy” for multiple companies. He was brought on to Rerum Novarum to increase market share and lead us to become a global leader in technology transfer.
Ms. Shettar is a graduate of Emory’s Goizueta Business School, where she studied Marketing and Environmental Science. After spending two years in China studying Mandarin and teaching, she returned to the US and joined Rerum Novarum, where she now assists the company in navigating international ventures, developing marketing strategy, and managing media relations.
